Is your smile wedding ready? Simple tricks to boost your confidence

Is your smile wedding ready? It may be the last thing on your mind but it is important you don’t leave it to the last minute. The perfect smile on your wedding day is achievable. Read on to discover some simple tricks to boost your confidence on your big day..

Freshen up

Fresh, clean breath is always in style! Make sure you have had your 6 monthly clean before your wedding day. This will also help to remove any yellow coffee or tea stains. It is common for these to build up especially leading up to your big day so book your quick 6 monthly clean asap! At Riverstone Family Dental we finish our cleans with an amazing stain remover and if you purchase a pre-wedding package we also exfoliate your lips – exfoliating dead skin and removing yellow stains, who wouldn’t want that? Dr Zena’s Tip: Book this appointment at least one month before your big day. This will allow you time to whiten your teeth afterwards or address any outstanding dental work well ahead of time. On your wedding day, stay well hydrated and get one of your awesome bridesmaids to have mints handy throughout the day. Also, wedding excitement may dry out your mouth so have water handy and sip on that throughout the day.

Whiten and Straighten up

There are so many options to choose from. You can find whitening kits, toothpastes, strips and gels almost everywhere. Note, that if you have crowns, fillings or veneers on your front teeth then teeth whitening may not work. If you want teeth whitening that will last then choose a custom-made take home kit from the dentist. If you want fast and dramatic results then ZOOM In chair whitening is the way to go. Your wedding is the perfect excuse to finally get your teeth straightened. Invisalign express can set you back roughly $4000, call us on 8678 3538 to find out more or check our Instagram. One of our patients Emeline’s wedding before and after in 12 months can be found here. Dr Zena’s Tip: teeth whitening works best on CLEAN teeth. So get your dentist to remove all stains and build-up for maximum results. Drink tea and coffee through a straw (my patients know ALL about this!!) and remember even foods like blueberries, beetroot, red wine, soy sauce and tomato sauce can affect your bright smile if consumed straight after whitening. Pre-wedding pampering

Going to the dentist sounds like the LAST place to get pampering before your wedding! However, choose your dentist right and you will be amazed by the experience. Some ideas include: a scale, clean and polish of your teeth followed by a teeth whitening session. Tee it up with a head and neck massage, a spray tan or a facial session and you will be amazed how you feel! At Riverstone Family Dental we have special pre-wedding packages available. These pre-wedding packages are best redeemed at least a month before your wedding day. This is because facials are best done three weeks before the wedding and spray tans are best done one week before your special day. Contact us on 8678 3538 to discuss how we can customise these for you. Dr Zena’s Tip: ask your make-up artist for a blue based lipstick and clear, sun-kissed skin will contrast your teeth and make them look whiter. Remember you can find red, pink and coral shades of lipstick with a blue base so don’t worry about limited choices.

Confidence boost before wedding photos

First and foremost – de-stress! The wedding prep can be crazy stressful so make sure you are managing this. Stress can affect your skin, hair and complexion. Plus I’ve never seen a stressed person smile genuinely so set aside de-stress time ladies! Next is your smile. Your smile is the ultimate fashion accessory! A genuine smile immediately brightens your face, so boost your confidence by freshening up your smile. You will look back on the smiles in your wedding photos and remember your amazing day. If you do not like smiling then it may be something to bring up with your dentist. You never know what simple hacks they can recommend to boost your confidence and have your smile camera-ready for your big day!
